INTRO TO CANDLE POURING WORKSHOP 

Class Date: Saturday, October 12th

Class Time: 12pm–3pm

Welcome to the fun and festive world of candle making with this beginner-friendly course!

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of candle making from wax to wick, as well as an introduction to fragrance theory and blending. From there, you will be able to create three candles with an autumn-inspired motif.

First, you will create your first candle in a mini travel sized, featuring your very own blended scent.

From there, your full creativity reigns. We will explore safe and unique ways to customize your candles, including seasonally-shaped wax embeds and decorating a candle vessel with beautiful dried florals. You may continue to experiment with scent blending or use a selection of tried-and-true holiday favorites that everyone will enjoy.

By the end of this workshop, you will have an understanding of the craft of candle making, fragrance creation, and three candles to enjoy or gift.

Each workshop ticket includes:

• 3 hours of hands on instruction from a talented artists and small business owner

• Three candles: One travel sized mini candle, one double-walled jar candle to decorate with dried florals and one jar candle with cork stopper

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS: LYSS SHATTUCK

Lyss is the artisan and owner of Choucre, a luxury candle brand with a y2k-twist based in Austin, TX. She is inspired by her favorite memories from childhood and works to recreate those memories in scent form in her candles. She believes that everyone could use a little more whimsy in their lives, so she is not afraid of loud colors or unexpected scents in her design. When not pouring candles, she is likely enjoying an iced coffee, playing boardgames, or chasing her dog through the backyard.

Cancellations: We do not allow cancellations as we have committed to compensating our instructor for their time, supplies and talent. However, if you are unable to attend the workshop, let us know within 48 hours and you can either send someone else in your place or pick up any personal workshop materials the week following the class.

Dietary restrictions: We will be providing a light meal for all of our workshop attendees. At this time we are not able to cater to every dietary restriction but will have a vegetarian option available. (please make a selection at check out, once your selection has been made we are unable to modify.)

Age requirements: The Paper + Craft Pantry workshops are created for adults and are not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 years old. We are unable to seat anyone under age without a ticketed parent or legal guardian who is also attending this class.
