DESIGN YOUR OWN WASHI TAPE WORKSHOP

Class Date: Sunday, August 15th

Class Time: 12pm–3pm

You will need an iPad, Apple Pencil and most recent version of Procreate App downloaded.

*Previous knowledge of Procreate is recommended but not required! 

We'll kick off this workshop with a refresher on Procreate - how we use this incredible tool to create our shop's stationery line! We will work through various practice exercises including how to set up a canvas, creating a tool box and setting up a color palette, how to use layers and so much more.

Then we will dive right into learning how to doodle, draw and design your own washi tape. We will cover how to create a layout and pattern that will turn your illustrations into the cutest roll of tape. There's no limit to what you can create whether it's a designing a repeating pattern or purposefully arranging your illustrations to create a layout. 

We'll also go over important details to consider when designing such as safe area, trim line, and bleed.

You will leave with several washi samples, a design template as well as resources on how to manufacture your own tapes. 

*We will have an add-on option at the end of the workshop should you want us to assist with getting your design made into rolls of tapes.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: PEI SIM

Pei is the owner + founder of The Paper + Craft Pantry. She obviously loves paper and all things stationery! She enjoys creating, crafting and using her impressive (or some may say insane) collection of stationery which has led her to a daily journaling practice. When she is not working at the shop, you can find her trying to sneak in an afternoon nap or hanging out with her 3 girlies at home!

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: MEG BRITO

Meg is the P+CP designer with a degree in graphic design from the University of South Alabama. She is inspired by 70's design + lettering and has experience working with small businesses through designing collateral like retail products and digital assets.

Cancellations: We do not allow cancellations as we have committed to compensating our instructor for their time, supplies and talent. However, if you are unable to attend the workshop, let us know within 48 hours and you can either send someone else in your place or pick up any personal workshop materials the week following the class.

Dietary restrictions: We will be providing a light meal for all of our workshop attendees. At this time we are not able to cater to every dietary restriction but will have a vegetarian option available. (Please make a selection at check out, once your selection has been made we are unable to modify.)

Age requirements: The Paper + Craft Pantry workshops are created for adults and are not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 years old. We are unable to seat anyone under age without a ticketed parent or legal guardian who is also attending this class.
