INTRO TO SCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOP

Class Date: Saturday, September 14th

Class Time: 12pm–3pm

This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the process of screen printing! Brittany will begin with a short walkthrough on how she makes the screens in her home studio & give some resources on other ways you can explore making screens at home.  She’ll demonstrate the four-color screen printing process on a screen printing press and help you hand-print a 4-color floral design onto your very own canvas tote bag! For the last part of the class, Brittany will give you step-by-step directions for using single-color, freehand screens.

You are invited to explore printing with both the printing press and the freehand screens!  You will use a variety of floral-themed, pre-made screens to practice on paper and create your own unique prints.

Each workshop ticket includes:

• 3 hours of hands on instruction from a talented artist and small business owner

• Intro to Screen Printing guide & resources for at-home screen making

• Use of screen printing press, screens and squeegees during the workshop

• A variety of paper + colorful ink during the workshop

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: BRITTANY MCCREADY

Brittany is the creator of Pie Chart Press, based in Austin, Texas.  She and her husband, Bo, screen print their original designs onto shirts and poster prints out of their garage studio. Bo and Brittany taught themselves how to screen print in 2021 and started Pie Chart Press in the spring of 2023 after a lot of trial and error, experimenting, and practice. When she’s not screen printing, Brittany enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her kids.

Inclement weather: Updates and policies will be emailed the week of the workshop date with any current or relevant pertinent information.

Cancellations: We do not allow cancellations as we have committed to compensating our instructor for their time, supplies and talent. However, if you are unable to attend the workshop, let us know within 48 hours and you can either send someone else in your place or pick up any personal workshop materials the week following the class.

Dietary restrictions: We will be providing a light meal for all of our workshop attendees. At this time we are not able to cater to every dietary restriction but will have a vegetarian option available. (please make a selection at check out, once your selection has been made we are unable to modify.)

Age requirements: The Paper + Craft Pantry workshops are created for adults and are not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 years old. We are unable to seat anyone under age without a ticketed parent or legal guardian who is also attending this class.
