HANDMADE COLORFUL TERRAZZO PAPER MAKING WORKSHOP

Class Date: Saturday, October 18th

Class Time: 12pm–3pm

Join us for a hands-on, creative 3-hour workshop where we will explore the art of paper weaving and learn how to transform simple sheets of paper into stunning works of art.

We will learn not only basic weaving but also how to create our own custom patterns, from geometric designs to organic freeform approaches, giving us endless possibilities to explore. This workshop will also explore how text and photography can be incorporated, bringing more depth to our pattern creations.

Under the guidance of Kelly, the instructor, you will experiment with color, form and texture as you create several different pieces during the workshop. You will leave with a collection of woven artworks that reflect your personal creativity and artistic journey. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience with paper crafting, this workshop is designed to inspire and help you discover your unique artistic voice.

You will leave this workshop with 4-6 handmade paper weavings plus the knowledge and inspiration to continue making more weavings paper at home!

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: KELLY CHAMBLISS

Kelly is the hands that make behind Rockywoods Studio, crafting plantable paper and custom colored wedding stationery. As an artist and art teacher, she was surrounded by so much paper waste. She began making her own paper as a way to be less wasteful in the classroom and her own art practice. Paper making allows her to play. It’s as much about the process, as it is the end result.
